If someone shared a file or folder with you that you don’t want to see anymore, you can remove it. Go to drive.google.com. On the left, click Shared with me. Right click the file you want to remove.
Even if you delete a subfolder, you can still access the main folder and some subfolders in the main folder. In short, if you delete a file shared with you, it will only delete it from your drive, without any impact on other people’s drives.
Stop sharing a file
- Open the homescreen for Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, or Google Slides.

Does removing a file from Google Drive delete it?
